Timing

"The tender mercies of the Lord are real and . . . they do not occur randomly or merely by coincidence. Often, the Lord's timing of His tender mercies helps us to both discern and acknowledge them. . . The Lord's tender mercies are the very personal and individualized
blessings, strength, protection, assurances, guidance, loving-kindnesses, consolation, support, and spiritual gifts which we receive from and because of and through the Lord Jesus Christ."

This quote by Elder Bednar sums up our last few days pretty well. We fasted about what to do with our lives on Sunday. We came a consistent peace about moving to Logan. But the timing of waiting until summer seemed off. So, we decided we would start pursuing things earlier. Later that night Lisa let us know about a community of subsidized housing (very similar to what we live in now) in Logan. We had NO idea this subdivision existed and it "just so happened" that they have 20 brand new units to fill. We know if we wait until summer, these would be filled. So, we've sent off our application and are hoping to hear good news about being accepted to live there.

Thanks to Cody, Lisa & Raychel for taking pictures of the houses for us!

Ryan applied for two jobs in Logan on Monday night. Both of them called for an interview Tuesday morning. For one of them, he's going to have to go up to Logan this weekend for further "evaluation." Needless to say, things are moving at a much quicker pace than we anticipated.

It is stressful, but the last few days have been filled with TENDER MERCIES.

To complicate matters, I was hit in the parking lot of Head Start this morning. Ironically, it was one of Ryan's co-worker's wife that slid into me. (The roads have been nasty slippery today.)

I guess it can't always be sunshine.

  1. Thanks for the reminder of Elder Bednar's talk. I've been in tailspin since Matt's new calling and I needed to hear that. I'm sorry everything has been happening for you at once, and I was so sorry to hear about Betsy! I'm thinking of you all and you're in my prayers. I love you!

  2. Wow, I guess it's safe to say that it was inspiration that I told you about that housing. Honestly, when I sat down to email you it was not at all on my mind. And, with my pregnant brain right now, it's not something that I would normally just think of. I'm glad we could be of so much help. And if Ryan needs a place to stay when he comes to interview, he's welcome to stay here (and you too, if you want). Good luck with everything, and thanks for keeping us informed!

  3. I could follow you people around until the day I die. You're so interesting! I love how inspired you are and that the Lord is SO aware of all that you are doing and wanting to do. I love fasting. It opens doors like nothing else can.
I'm excited for you and all that awaits you!
PS ~ Eric SO belongs to your family! He is darling and looks so much like his siblings! I'm sorry I never came over to meet him, but I think we'll meet againg at some point in time. What a handsome gent! Evelyn said Luke was her brother yesterday.
