When we moved to Logan in January, I wasn't feeling well. I had this overwhelming desire to increase in happiness and in wellness. I needed to lose weight from my 3rd pregnancy. I decided to start reading EVERYTHING I could get my hands on related to health, wellness and weight loss.
Two important things happened during that time. First, I remembered a series of conversations and counsels I had received in blessings to study nutrition for my own wellness and for the wellness of my children. Second, I came across a number of books about "detoxing." I called Joel and asked him about it too. The idea seemed fascinating--the need to detox the body.
In modern Society we all deal with "toxins." They come in the simple form of allergies to the complex form of food additives. They are anything from pollution to the everyday high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils. A toxic body is a general term for a body that has too much stuff that it cannot use, that it does not need, or that alters the natural cellular processing of energy.
It takes an extra boost to process and restore our health or heal our health at a cellular level. It is fairly simple: lots of fruits and vegetables. I read everything from extreme responses to moderate suggestions to "just be careful" warnings in relation to detoxifying. Consistent themes developed in all the "answers," one of the themes was: drink açai juice IF you can get access to it.
Time traveled by, my desire for health and wellness increased. The recommendation for açai juice settled in the back of my mind. After a month of involvement in a focus group with ICON fitness, I began having problems with my left knee. At the same time, we were approached by a friend to watch a presentation on MonaVie.
The presentation was well done. Ultimately, we knew it was a MLM (multi-level marketing) company. We decided against it. We had lost too much money over the course of our marriage to MLMs. MonaVie, however, sat in the back of my mind. I began to research the company and the açai berry feverishly. To use the words of another person, "I researched myself into it." Using my sore knee as an excuse, I called our friend back. We decided to go ahead a get involved in the company.
Ryan was so-so about the whole thing, until he started drinking the juice consistently. He would wake up and say, "I feel so good today." For him it was a marked difference of wellness, and he's pretty healthy.
In the past I have felt embarrassed by being part of a network marketing company, this one I'm absolutely excited about. They have their own humanitarian aid project! They create sustainable living environments for the people of Brazil (where the açai berry comes from). The encourage people to work together, and they have a good compensation plan.
For me, it's not about the money. When I did ACN or MaryKay, it was about the money. The money did not keep me motivated. For me, this is about the health benefits. I'm so excited about it that I want to share. (I feel so cheesy when I write that stuff, but it's true.)
Check out their videos. They have all their stuff online. It's awesome!
Yeah, I could totally be healthier.
