I called my doctor hoping he could help despite the crappy medical insurance I had at the time. He thought maybe one of my ligaments was torn and recommended physical therapy. Since I had crappy insurance--there was no x-rays or yada, yada, yada...we all know the story.
I now have much better insurance. My knee still experiences pain as it has off and on most of my adult life. On Thursday of last week I did 8 x-rays of my knees. Dr. Stevens called this morning to give me the results and suggested treatment plan. I was ABSOLUTELY SURPRISED to hear I was showing early signs of arthritis. He seemed rather surprised himself.

I'm starting physical therapy tomorrow. I'm not sure what this means in the long term...I'll I know is that it was overwhelming to see the words "degenerative tissue" on the referral I took to the physical therapist.
Sometimes I feel like my brain is degenerative tissue, not my knees.
I feel like I have so many questions and very few answers concerning this topic. Hum??
I just went to a little motivational talk by a guy, and he said that arthritis is becoming much more common for the younger crowd. He says that it's because we generally don't get enough well-rounded exercise in that includes stretching, cardio, and strength training.
ReplyDeleteSo, I guess you are proving that to me. I will probably get it sometime soon.
