I LOVE the American West Heritage Center. Next summer we (the children and I) are going to volunteer. SWEET! I'll get to wear pioneer clothes and make butter. I think it rocks. I also want to learn how to spin yarn--that's a tangent to my title.
Last Saturday we went to the Corn Maze. Cody, Lisa, Lee and baby Annalisa went with us. (Thank heaven they brought a camera.) We had a great time! We did get lost in the maze (part of the fun, right?). Thank heaven for some man wearing a yellow sweatshirt that had a map. He helped us get out!
We also went to the North Logan Pumpkin walk this week with the kids...oh that I had a camera for that event! They were a bunch of random scenes created out of painted pumpkins and gourds. For example, a scene from the Andy Griffith Show, Veggie Tales and some 80s super hero show...just to name a few.
This is the Kid Corn Maze.
There was also hay jumping. Luke was nervous. He spent several moments looking over the edge to the dismay of the children waiting behind him. I yelled, "Either jump or walk back down." He took one look at me, bucked up and jumped. Then we couldn't get him off the hay stacks. Suzanne...we'll she was a different story.
(This was my one moment of being the "cool mom." Usually my "cool mom" tactics fail miserably! Thanks to Lisa, we got an 'action' shot!)
Okay corn maze captial!!! Since we've moved to Cache Valley my children think that the corn maze is like the jungle gym at the park. The sad thing is it costs money to go. Aubree and Adam have gone about four times already. Next year I'll buy a pass. (haha if they have one.)
ReplyDeleteThose pictures look like you had an awfully good time. I think that is so neat that you have so much available to experience. It reminded me of you and Valerie playing on or around the haystack at the dairy in Fruitland.
ReplyDeleteSuzanne's face of you holding her is pure bliss.
ReplyDeleteI'll donate the wool, if you get a spinning wheel. What fun ideas!
