Guess I'll Go Eat Worms. . .

It's been raining and snowing the last several days.  It has been warm enough that all the worms have surfaced.  Luke and Suzanne have been naming them, counting them, and overall analyzing their general purpose.

Eric, however, had a completely different agenda.  He went straight to eating them!

You can imagine my horror this morning as I watched him stuff a worm in his mouth!  I started running around like a chicken-with-my-head-cut-off saying, "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh."  But I was too repusled by the situation to do anything about it but freak out!  All I could think was, "Maybe it's protien?"

Ryan, normally NOT the bug catcher, quickly ran to him and pulled the worm out.

Eric ran from Ryan until he was at a safe you're-not-going-to-deworm-me distance.  Then he gave us this HILARIOUS smerk.  His eyes said something like, "HA! I got you!"

Later we realized the worms were exactly the same color as the turkey bacon we were eating.  No wonder he had to give it a try.

  1. Haa haa haa. I think that worms probably taste just like turkey bacon to! Bert would have just freaked in this situation. Addy tried to eat something off the bottom of her shoe the other day and it took Bert all of his will power to not throw up.

  2. When Aubree was about Eric's age we were in the laundry room/storage room, in our Roy home. I saw Aubree pick up something and put it in her mouth. I extracted it from her and saw that it was a BIG fat brown cut worm. I had the hebegebees for two days I swear. (I like to swear) It was one I'll never forget.

  3. Ewwww! LOL If you thought the other two were prone to mischief, huh? :D BTW Almost done with season 2 of lost. Still plagued by weird dreams after 2-5 episodes a night depending on time. Matt spent most of ward conference this last week distraced by Mr. Eko. LOL

  6. Earlier today, I was watching Curious George with the little guy I take care of, and it was about worm races. All of a sudden he says, "Nette, I love worms, they tasty!". I had to laugh because I thought of you & your sweet kids, but at the same time I was just disgusted!!

Hope you guys are doing well! If you are ever down in SLC, I'd love to see you guys!

  7. MMmmmmmm. I'm so glad you got it out! Once Dean made a dutch oven dinner and decided to put chinese noodles on top and when he opened the lid it looked like a bunch of worms and no one would eat it. Crystal disected one in 3rd grade, she sure learned a lot. But I hope you can keep Eric from eating more....yuck

  8. Eeeew....I probably would have freaked out too. I don't know if I could get a worm out of somebody's mouth without puking--I can hardly get them on my fish hook! Yuck, I just got shivers.
