Transition Time

It's time for school!

Luke starts on Monday.

I start Monday the 24th.

Suzi starts Head Start preschool the 31st.

Luke was nervous yesterday when we went to "Back to School" night. We went and got a new backpack today. He is much more excited today. Thank heaven for backpacks. I am trying another charter school. . .this one uses the Montessori method for teaching. I am really excited about it, and I know his teach from my undergraduate years at SUU. She is going to be great! I am excited to see how Montessori works because it is entirely different from traditional American school. I am so fascinated by the method I have debated on becoming certified after I finish this masters degree. . .in short: everything is hands on, building and individual learning. For those of you familiar with head start, they use several principles from the Montessori method. Luke loved Head Start, so I hope this works for him too.

I wish a new backpack would help me with my jitters. It is AWESOME to have my school completley paid for. THANK HEAVEN for the scholarship I was awarded. I hope I can live up to the expectations the department has of me.

Suzanne. Well, she's Suzi. I am really excited for her to go to Head Start. I think she will really enjoy it.

Now. . .if only we could get out of my parent's basement. . .we are only a month or two out and we will be able to finally move on. . .I can't wait. I am, however, very grateful for the help to get back on our feet. Ryan hasn't worked full time for almost 18 months. So, to have him working full-time again has been a blessing too.

Things are looking up. I never thought we would be in this situation. It's not something I would wish on anyone. I am so grateful for the patience of those around us!

  1. Good luck with school, and hang in there! It's been a tough ride, but I bet in the end you'll be grateful for it.
