A Whole New World

I had no idea what the last 36 hours would be like when we brought Eric home. I think my favorite quote of the time period has come from Suzanne. We had just got him home and in his bassinet to sleep. Luke and Suzanne sat on the edge of our bed thoughtfully looking in the bassinet. Luke kept saying, "I like Eric. . . I'm glad you brought him home." Suddenly, Suzanne sat up straight, looked at Luke and said, "Luke, he has arms!"

I forgot how exhausting it is to give birth. Mentally, I feel like I want to take on the world--then, I move my body. It feels like the world has taken me on.

This morning we found out that Eric's bilirubin count is too high. He's currently in our bedroom under "the lights" the hospital had delivered to our house. Thank heaven newborns are so sleepy and just lay around.

So far, having 3 kids hasn't been too bad. Everyone has there advise for when the parents are "out numbered." Being out numbered feels like the least of my concerns right now.
