Happy 4th of JULY!

Several weeks ago we promised our kids we would take them camping for the 4th of July Celebration. They were so EXCITED I could barely keep them out of the car on Thursday since we needed to wait for Ryan to get home from work.

Here's a few pictures from our adventure (in RANDOM order).

We cooked taquitos on a stick for dinner. They were super good!

Luke and Suzanne were pretending to be Raptors hiding in the tall grass.

Suzanne filled her "backpack" with skipping rocks. They are the tiniest of pebbles.

There was no picnic table at our free campsite. We used our resources and made this one. Ryan said, "Daughter like Father." Aren't you proud of me, Dad? Really, it was thanks to who ever left all the wood at the campsite.

Child labor? Yep, this is Eric laying in the tent with the dustpan of the tent sweeper.

This is our campsite. Note the location of the bathroom. There are only two bathrooms in the entire camping area. We choose a strategic bathroom location. With the kids, we are grateful we did. As a matter of fact, Suzanne thought going in the outhouse was the "coolest" bathroom she had ever used.

  2. It looks like your family picked a nice spot for your family camp trip. You certainly are inventive with the table. I hope that the raptors didn't eat all your extra food. They looked pretty scary.
