Luke as a writer.

Luke LOVES to write books. He recently began writing "chapter books." I walked outside a couple of days ago to find him composing a book while sitting in the stroller in our neighbor's yard. The book was about how he did not want to be Suzanne's brother anymore! She took a toy away from him, and it made it him mad. Nothing like writing an emotionally charged book. (I told him, by the way, he didn't really have a choice about being her brother. So, he should accept it and move forward. HA! He was over it in an hour.)

  1. Good for you, Luke, writing a book! When I was a kid, a little older than Luke, I would write all kinds of things. I wrote a book about a kid who got a gerbil. I also wrote a recipe called "Omalisa" which was an omelet, starting with "6 cups of water." I thought you could write a recipe just like you could write a book: you sit down, write some words, and it will be good, right? I also wrote some music for my Aunt Karin to play. I sat down, drew some notes on a paper (I don't think it was even staff paper) and gave it to her. She, being an awesome aunt, played some Bach cello solo, and I believed I was a music genius for years. So, Luke, keep on writing--you never know where it will take you.

  2. Maybe if I would have started writing at that age I would be pulished by now. HAHA. I used to enjoy watching Aubree make books. She'd cut them to size, staple them and then write in them. Now my children are expected to write stories for school. I actually love it because I try can influence them into writing on one of my ideas, like Aubree is writing on my idea about the flavor factory trouble, where the mash potatoes are going to taste like cotton candy. HAHA I got to get out there somehow even if it's by proxy. HAHA Hopefully you won't turn me in .. . .

  4. I loved reading Lukes book that he wrote. He read it to me. He is one smart cookie! Maybe he can write a book for me someday. You're the best.
