Raglan

Raglan is a beach town about 45 minute drive from Hamilton. We ventured to Raglan while we still had the camper van at the beginning of September.

We spent two days at Raglan. They were the most relaxing days. I'm sad this following photo does not capture how black the sand is. The sand on the western coasts of New Zealand are very dark. The sands on the eastern coasts are silver. . .we are excited to see the silver sand.

The coastline is about an hour drive in most directions from Hamilton. We can't wait to get a car and head to the beach again.

  1. I hear black sand means there is gold in it. Are there gold mines around?
